"The Death of A Soldier"(2019) Storyboard
Inspired from the "Power of Ten" (1977)-short documentary written and directed by Charles and Ray Eames which depict the relative scale of the Universe according to an order of magnitude based on a factor of ten, "The Death of a Soldier" is the image capture of last moments of a color-bearer in unknown battle in World War II. In the past, due to the amount of dust and smoke on a battlefield, flags were the important signs to determine where their regiment was. Therefore, the loss of a unit's flag was not only shameful, but losing this central point of reference could make the unit break up and the colour-bearer is a position requires the high bravery. In this storyboard, I have chosen the balance and symmetry composition in most of scenes not only to show the direction of the enemy's attack which is the position of the color-bearer but also show the bravery of this soldier who still waves his flag despite the crazy firing of enemy. Moreover, the moving from very far to the eyes of the character also show the overview of the raging battle to the audience. With me, "The Death of A Soldier" depicts a short story or short views about the fury of war and the courage of soldiers despite the danger to achieve their missions during this intense.
"The Terrorist of Dreams"(2018)

Inspired from Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud's theory of dream, "The Terrorist of Dreams" is the short surrealism animation scenes that capture the action of terrorist after finishing his mission in the dream. The reason why I chose the sea surface comes from the statement of Carl Jung that "the sea is the favorite symbol for the unconscious, the mother of all that lives". The stepping on the sea and blasting the car of this character is the conscious expropriation because according to Carl Jung, "field is the collective unconscious where the treasure is hidden" (in this story, the car is the treasure). Therefore, when the field is destroyed, the sea surface will become a smooth and mirror water surface and the water bubble flying up represents that the conscious has been replaced with the new fresh idealism. Moreover, beside the theory of dream's application, "The Terrorist of Dreams" also is the first storyboard I have ever made and I also experiment with different cinematic composition such as golden ration, rule of third and symmetry so that I can show to the audience the beauty of surrealism world with different views. This storyboard and a brief animation about it will be a good source for me to develop from it in the future.
"Fire Ball"(2018)
Brief Storyboard
"Fire Ball" (2018) is short animation clip that I experimented with using watercolor for animation and the bouncing ball is a good way to test this method. In the storyboard, I tried to create very joyful ball with the colorful background like 80s disco but in my animation, due to matter of time, I have simplified the movement and the story. However, I will definitely have a animation version to accomplish this in the near future.
"The Fight of a Lizard" (2018) Storyboard
"Forest Warrior" is one of my future project which is about the fight of lizard warrior against the deforestation of human. Below is my storyboard depict the part of the fight of lizard warrior to protect the forests. All of the martial art movement in this work is inspired from the Binh Dinh Martial Art which is the traditional martial art in my country Vietnam.
